Nigerian Police Salary Structure 2019 According to Their Ranks [NEW]: In this post, we shall look at the new Nigerian Police Salary structure to expose how much a Nigerian Police officer earns monthly and yearly this 2019.

The Nigerian Police (formally the Nigerian Police Force) is becoming really cool employment-wise. The salary is considerable good. And you’re pretty confident you will get it at the end of every month. This is a post about the Nigerian police ranks and their salaries in 2019.

The Nigerian Police  Force (NPF), which was first established in 1820 is the principal law enforcement agency in Nigeria and is responsible for internal security of lives and properties. Its vision is to make Nigeria safer and more secure for economic development and growth; to create a safe and secure environment for everyone living in Nigeria.

It has  a staff strength of about 371,800. There are currently plans by the present Government to increase the force to 650,000. The NPF is a very large organization consisting of 36 State commands grouped into 12 zones and 7 administrative organs. The federal agency also has 14 different arms. The agency is currently headed by the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar Adamu, MPN, mni.

There is a new salary arrangement for the Nigerian Police force as updated March 2019.

Below is the new monthly salary structure has carried by Nigerian news outlets:

  • Police Constable (PC) – ₦86,000
  • Sergeant Copral (SC) -₦96,000
  • Sergeant Major (SM) – ₦119,000
  • Inspector Of Police (IP) – ₦167,000
  • Inspector of police (IP) – ₦254,000
  • Assistant Superintendent of police (ASP) II – N271,000
  • Assistant Superintendent of police(ASP) l – ₦296,000
  • Deputy Superintendent of police (DSP) – ₦321,000
  • Superintendent of Police (SP) – ₦342,000
  • Chief Superintendent of police (CSP) – ₦419,000
  • Assistant Commissioner of police (ACP) – ₦483,000
  • Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) -₦531,000
  • Commissioner of police (CP) -₦1.5million.

This new salary structure begins on November 1 2018.

1. A Police Recruit

A Police recruit is a person who is undergoing training to become a member of the police force. # NPF Salaries

Following the salary increase of 2010, the federal government under the leadership of Goodluck Jonathan extended the salary and allowance package to the military, para-military, police and intelligence community, who were not always covered by similar salary reviews in the past. The extension of the jumbo increase to other public servants as opposed to the core civil servants, shot the entire wage bill to N267. 4 billion in year 2010.
